These two Blackbutt bookcases were delivered to Giralang, ACT, for Andrew at Upcycled Wood Designs. Upcycled Wood Designs was our client; the delivery was to their customer’s home.
The timber came from a property in Nowra. In the finished pieces, its varied grain gives the shelving a character of its own. The photographs show two different arrangements: one bookcase against a wall and another with open shelving visible from the adjoining living area.
Furniture with a story behind it
Andrew creates custom furniture through Upcycled Wood Designs, working with sustainably sourced or reclaimed timber. For this project, the maker and the delivery team had separate roles: Upcycled Wood Designs supplied the bookcases, and Phil’s Furniture Freighters brought them to the customer in Giralang.
The gallery below includes full views of both pieces and closer views of their shelving and timber.
