Furniture Removalist & Offsider Work Opportunities in Doreen

Phil’s Furniture Freighters is a small, family-run furniture delivery and removals business based in Doreen, Victoria. We’re building a free call-on list of reliable offsiders and driver-removalists for work when it comes up. Joining the list does not guarantee a job or regular shifts.

We care about honesty, reliability, careful handling and treating customers properly. Experience helps, but attitude and character matter just as much. A truck licence is useful for driving work, but it is not essential for offsider positions.

What the work can involve

Depending on the job, you may help load and unload furniture, protect and blanket-wrap items, carry them carefully through customers’ homes, place them in rooms, and help with assembly or setup. Work can be local around Doreen and Melbourne or on Melbourne–Canberra–Sydney runs.

Interstate work can mean several days away. Sleeping arrangements can be simple or makeshift in the back of the truck rather than hotels. The form asks plainly whether you’re comfortable with this; you can still join if you only want local work.

Who should join?

We’d like to hear from furniture removalists, offsiders, drivers who also handle furniture, and practical people with related delivery, warehouse, trade or customer-facing experience. We especially welcome people near Doreen and Melbourne’s northern suburbs who can manage early starts or shorter-notice work. Tell us what type of work suits you and when you’re available.

How the list works

Phil may contact you when suitable PFF work comes up. You can separately choose occasional email job alerts and whether you’re open to being asked about work with another removalist. We’ll check with you about each specific introduction before sharing your contact details. The other business arranges the job and pays you directly; PFF does not set rates or handle payment. The list is free for workers and removalists.
